🚨CHINA ISN’T JUST WATCHING AMERICA’S AI RACE …

They’re trying to influence the Americans debating it.

X says its Safety team uncovered a bot farm of roughly 200,000 suspected Chinese inauthentic accounts.🔥

Within that network, about 200 accounts were pushing narratives aimed at a very real American debate:

• Data centers are driving up your electric bill
• They’re straining the power grid
• Big Tech gets rich while YOU pick up the tab

Some even used AI-generated cartoons depicting Americans getting fleeced.

That matters because this isn’t the first time.

In June, OpenAI shut down a likely China-origin influence operation it called “Data Center Bandwagon” that was pushing remarkably similar messaging while posing as Americans online.

Here’s what makes this tactic so effective:

They don’t have to INVENT an issue.

They take legitimate American concerns about energy prices and the power grid, then use fake accounts to amplify them and manipulate the debate.

⚠️Meanwhile, China is racing America for AI dominance.

If our biggest competitor wants Americans fighting over whether we should keep building the infrastructure necessary to win that race, we should probably pay attention.

America should decide America’s energy and AI policy … not a foreign bot farm.🇺🇸
