If you look in EBUโs financial statements, youโll see that the reserves they currently have are more than adequate for a finance POV (as of y/e 2024) - the main issue is 100% gonna be reputational damage moving forward that will harm the finances eventually
๐ก The European Broadcasting Union has confirmed to Norway's NRK that it will not become more expensive for broadcasters to compete at #Eurovision in 2026.
This is despite the boycott of Ireland, Netherlands, Slovenia and Big Five member Spain.
๐ต๐น RTP employees find it "incomprehensible" that the broadcaster has confirmed Portugal's participation and voted in favor of the rules keeping Israel in #Eurovision 2026, "ignoring the appeals of Portuguese artists and civil society".
They urge RTP to reconsider its position.
Think the really sad issue is that for most casual fans it probably wonโt impact them that much, so the viewing figures generally probably wonโt fluctuate that much, EBU have really ruined it for the fans that love it all year round sadly
