Team work and personal growth were celebrated at EMC 2024 Conference Dinner last night. Thank you to the four reps from the Tony’s Trek crew.. a group of 26 from the Victorian emergency services who made it - as a team - to the Everest base camp this year raising funds for ESF.
With increasing frequency and complexity of disasters, there is a greater need to embrace diversity. Dr Margaret Moreton gave an engaging Claire Zara Oration at EMC2024. “There is no business as usual and communities are recovering from one disaster while they undergo the next”
Agriculture Victoria is all over animal disease preparedness at the Emergency Management Conference in Melbourne this week. Thanks Dr Julie Simons and team for the engaging insights into AgVic's important work.
We love to get out & about to share our research - this week we are supporting & attending the annual @ESF_Victoria@EMCConference in Melbourne. If you're at #EMC2024 drop by our booth and learn about our research - it was wonderful to chat with so many people today.
It's been wonderful seeing Victoria’s emergency management sector coming together in Melbourne today for the 24th Emergency Management Conference! Day 1 highlights have included Cindi Preller from the Pacific Tsunami Museum and Josh Roose on international conflict and terrorism.
ESF welcome Catherine Greaves, Chief Executive Officer at @LifeSavingVic, as Deputy Chair. We are incredibly lucky to be able to draw on a wealth of experience from all all volunteer Board members and are excited to draw on Cath's expertise as we continue our important work.
Emergency Management Commissioner, Rick Nugent will facilitate the panel discussion, "How the job impacts families: a reflection on the personal impact of emergency service work", on Day 2 at EMC2024 @ESF_Victoria
