🌿 Active Presence of Our Working Group at the ESP Europe Conference in Wageningen 🌍
From 18–22 November, three members of our working group actively participated in the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP)@ESPartnership Europe Conference in Wageningen, Netherlands. This remarkable gathering brought together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss and advance the integration of ecosystem services into policy and practice across Europe.
One of the highlights of the conference for our team was the session “Setting Standards for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for the Corporate Sector”, presented by our esteemed working group head, Prof. Dr. B. Matzdorf (co-hosts Chen Cheng and Masahiro Ryo).
As co-founders of the German ESP Community (🌐 https://t.co/4Oq4YZjXY6), we are especially enthusiastic about fostering stronger networks and deeper collaboration within both the German and European contexts. This event has energized our commitment to working together to bridge science, policy, and practice for a more sustainable future.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers, speakers, and participants of the @ESPartnership Europe Conference 2024 for this inspiring week. We look forward to further exchanges and collaborations, both at the national and international levels!
🌱 Let’s continue shaping the future of ecosystem services together.

The best way to learn is to learn from another! All results of the FABulous farmers project are discussed in the closing conference and can be found at https://t.co/mgztrxKo9n
@Interreg_NWE project FABulous farmers: adapting species composition of flower strips can increase the functional agrobiodiversity (pollination, pest control). Marketplaces like @AgoraNatura_de can help to get the necessary funding.
I am looking for a motivated doctoral researcher to work on the new value chain for peatland rewetting in Germany. If you are interested in the cross-cutting issue of climate change, agriculture, nature and water in new bioeconomy based on carbon rich soil, just apply!
Peatlands deserve more attention from Agri Economists #EAAE2023Rennes Peatlands have been a missing piece in the climate change mitigation policy puzzle. Paradigm shift is needed but we are lost in action!
