Yesterday, @USCCB consecrated our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Today, as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart, I will introduce a resolution to officially recognize that great sign of Our Lord's love.
Let’s reclaim June for Jesus’ Sacred Heart 🧵
Today, I join my brother bishops in consecrating the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let us entrust ourselves, our families, and our nation to His merciful love. May His heart transform our hearts, strengthen our faith, and draw us ever closer to Him.
When public morality was better, people had these feelings (envy ranks 2nd to pride on the seven headly sins) , but understood that it was deeply shameful to express them.
Now, as public morality has collapsed, people openly say things like this as a sign of their supposed virtue.

A Catholic Bishop was murdered in cold blood in his home. 😱💔
🚨 BREAKING: Bishop Osório Citora Afonso of the Catholic Diocese of Quelimane has died after a gunshot attack at his residence in the early hours of June 6. He was just 54 years old.
Authorities say unknown assailants entered the bishop's residence and shot him in the chest. An investigation is now underway as Church leaders call for prayers and seek answers surrounding the shocking incident.
Bishop Afonso was known for his calls for peace, unity, and solidarity with communities suffering from violence in Mozambique. Only weeks ago, he publicly condemned terrorist attacks and urged Catholics to remain united in faith.
Please join us in praying for the repose of his soul and for the Catholic faithful of Mozambique during this painful time.
🙏 Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

On June 6, 1944, ordinary Americans became the guardians of freedom. They crossed an ocean, stormed the beaches of Normandy, and changed the course of history through courage, sacrifice, and love of country.
Eighty-two years later, Freedom 250 remembers the heroes who gave everything so freedom could endure. 🇺🇸
Today is the feast day of St. Boniface, an 8th century priest who is best remembered for taking an axe to Thor’s “thunder oak,” toppling it to show that pagan gods are powerless.
Many were converted by his boldness. May it inspire our own.
St. Boniface, pray for us.
