@EmilyGagliano1 I don't think we would be aware of half of the issues if not for social media. Mainstream media is so quick to move on to the next story.
I find the twitter component of this course to be very effective and engaging. That it is for a small percentage of marks ensures participation. Far more interaction than in real life. And time to think and reflect. #educ307

The ability to video and share globally protests in real time has shifted the storytelling role to the participants and enables an international audience to access information on their own time. #Lesson12
The chapter by Adam Klein lays out an incredible account of the development of social media as a voice for the people during uprisings. Raw footage of protests and reactions of government have given accountability to the people as the storytellers. #Lesson12
Of course we are influenced by Disney. They own so much of the media market. The are part of the story of our world, here in North America, in particular. They have a lot power. #Lesson11
I appreciate Janet Crawford's conclusion in her TEDx talk that suggests that with awareness and discussion by all, overcoming gender biases is possible. #Lesson11
