I don't think it means I stop caring or seeing those who are without or in need of things I can take for granted, but it does mean I've changed my approach to "consider others" and offer care. - Just bc I serve or minister differently doesn't mean it's wrong. It's just different.
Living in NYC, I've been approached by several houseless men my entire life. On occasion, I've approached them with food or water as a teen, omw 2 school. As I've gotten older, I've often found it to be dangerous to even make eye contact w/o being verbally or physically harassed.
Dear @ShopRiteStores can you explain why your store, in a majority Latino and Black community, in the Bronx sells mostly nearly expired food, rotting fruit, and smelly meat? I'm visiting with my family and I'm EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the options at the Bruckner Plaza ShopRite.
I've been to several other ShopRiteStores in different states and NEVER encountered food like this! This is the only market for elderly like my parents and people without cars, like my sister in law, to be able to walk to. Why are they not given the best?!
“When we declare a national holiday, we are telling a story about our history, the intersections of people groups, our values, and how our collective past informs our futures.” - S/O to @ASISTASJOURNEY for this 🔥 piece https://t.co/0v4CINA3zi via @missioalliance
Why does a grilled cheese cost $13 at the #NYC#LGA airport?! Since when did bread and cheese add to $13?! If I didn't need water for life, I wouldn't have paid $6! Imagine a world where essentials for one's existence didn't require you to go broke.
😂🤣😂🤣 When you're watching the Superbowl and every time you see a Tubi commercial, your Puerto Rican uncle says "look! Bad bunny! Bad bunny! It's a bad bunny!!! Hahaha" 😂 And he's sober.
Hey! @Lin_Manuel! I'm in the Bronx again & my nieces & nephew really want to get some piraguas! Last time we drove all thru Washington Heights & nada! I told them this time I would put out a message to make sure someone's in these streets with a block of ice. Mañana. #ayuda
In the gospel of Luke, the prodigal son doesn't return home because of a renewed love for his father. He comes back home simply to survive because he ran out of money and is starving. And his father is perfectly fine with that.
Just come home. God just wants you home.
