Published in the *Journal of Korean Transportation Research*, this article analyzed the initial adoption patterns of e-bikes in Seoul's congested streets, surveying over 500 urban commuters and potential users.
The study highlighted how e-bikes—then rudimentary prototypes with lead-acid batteries and basic pedal-assist mechanisms—could address key pain points like hilly terrain and long commutes, while reducing reliance on fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
