Welcome to the world Dean Michael Thibault aka Dean-o aka Deanie Baby aka Deanasaurus Rex aka the Dean Machine! Everybody is home and healthy and loving life.
We can map our lives in World Cups. Everyone will have a story of why and how you got hooked. It is emotional, it is identity, and it is belonging to something bigger.
Which is why we have to fight for it. Fight against it being abused, altered, and turned into a branding exercise and money-spinning scheme.
It’s the World Cup, not ‘The FIFA’. It’s commercial space not hydration breaks for player welfare.
It’s not “equal conditions for every team.” Ask Iran.

It’s been a privilege to have the @washingtonpost be our ‘local paper’ all these years…it’s a travesty to see what’s happening today, particularly with the sports section. Thanks to all the fantastic journalists who deserve far, far better.
America, what is going to be our excuse now. This wasn’t an immigrant, a domestic terrorist, a crazed lesbian, a woman, a liberal that wants to take all your guns away! It was a white male who was using his right to observe, who was protecting two other women, who…
Words aren’t a thing when it comes to this team. Some people don’t get sports. But I swear I’ve never been this inspired - by the very people who create actual magic on the wooden floor with the round ball - and the people in the stands. I’ve never been around such a diverse group of people in one place at any one time. There is SO much love in that room - and we are all rallying around this particular group of women athletes. Do yourself a favor. Be a part of history. Start watching the @minnesotalynx make their championship run tomorrow at Noon Central. And see what happens. Trust me. Love forever, Justin

Quite embarrassing our leaders do nothing to protect our children from gun violence. Tomorrow the news will just move on as if once again, innocent children weren’t murdered at school.
Praying for the families here in Minneapolis that have suffered loss today.
As a part of Bon Iver's Changemaker partnership with the @minnesotalynx, donations have been given to 13 Minnesota and Western Wisconsin non-profits. These organizations work to address gender inequities, domestic abuse, and/or gender violence.

The Senegal women’s national basketball team cancelled a 10-day U.S. training camp after the U.S. rejected visas for five players and six staff members.
This comes weeks after the Trump administration announced travel bans and visa restrictions.

Napheesa Collier on the shootings of DFL representatives in Minnesota
“It’s really scary, especially to raise a kid, in an environment like this where she has less rights than I had growing up… especially as athletes we have a platform, and I think we need to use it to speak out about things like this. This is not politics this is real life, and morality and human rights.”
