We've launched Putting the Driver First, our new white paper.
It makes the case for an EV transition that works for everyone - not just drivers with driveways, a budget for new cars or easy access to home charging.

We bought this van for £11,500+vat with less than 1000 miles on the clock. I’ve since added another 1500 miles over the past 10 days and charged almost exclusively on home charging.
This 1500 miles has cost us approx £84 in home charging and £47 in public charging, so £131.
If this was a diesel the 1500 miles would have cost us £276.
Over a year the savings here make a massive difference to the business.
The one on the right is my van.
The one on the left sits higher than my van, weighs more than my van, has less storage space than a VW Golf, weighs around 1000kgs more than a Golf and almost 700kgs more than our own EV.
With the high risk of these burning down an airport carpark in Luton, their horrific emissions, reliability, fuel economy and weight, it’s a wonder why people buy them.
We've asked our members where they like to charge 🚗 ⚡
Their answers tell a story the national conversation often misses: there are genuinely great places to charge in England, from scenic views to a farm shops.
As one driver put it, “charge and do touristy stuff”!
EVs are smoother, quieter, and cheaper to run.
Drivers are ready to make the switch.
Now the charging network needs to deliver.
We're supporting Electrify London, calling on those standing for election in May to commit to charging that is reliable, affordable, and easy to use.
Yesterday, we submitted our response to the Government’s eVED (pay-per-mile) consultation.
The message from EV drivers is loud and clear: The proposed scheme is being introduced at the wrong time and in a form that does not work for drivers.
🎉 Good news for the UK EV transition:
The Department for Transport has published its final compliance figures for the 2024 Vehicle Emissions Trading Scheme (VETS), confirming that both the car and van markets exceeded the first year targets under the ZEV mandate.
Quick reminder that our member-only workshop on consumer experience at public chargepoints is taking place tomorrow at 12pm, with Harriet Devonald (@zap_map ) and @SaraSloman1 (@paythru ).
Full details below 👇
We are back on Friday for the second workshop of our series. 🚗 ⚡
This time we're focusing on the consumer experience at public chargepoints as for many EV drivers, this experience remains inconsistent and, at times, frustrating.
"What we need to do is focus on bringing public charging costs down rather than worrying about the availability of chargers".
If Government wants more drivers to make the switch, EV policy needs to put them first.
On Times Radio, CEO Vicky Edmonds highlighted that "EV drivers worry less about the availability of charging and more about the price of public charging".
More chargers matter, but when charging on the go can cost up to 10x more than at home, price becomes the biggest barrier.
Confidence in #EVs is growing, with more drivers making the switch each year.
But misinformation is holding people back, shaping public opinion and influencing policy.
That’s why we’re launching our new member workshop series with a session on tackling EV misinformation.
🚗 #EV drivers without driveways, we need you! 🫵
Last week, the Planning and Infrastructure Bill became law, including new Government commitments on cross-pavement charging, following sustained engagement from EVA England and our partners at New AutoMotive, REA & Kerbo Charge.
"It is crucial now that we build on this progress and ensure all drivers are properly supported to make the switch. This can be done by expanding reliable, affordable and accessible charging, supporting the used EV market, and ensuring incentives reach everyday drivers."
EVA England CEO, Vicky Edmonds, comments:
"It's been another strong year for EVs as nearly 1 in 4 went full electric, and over a third in December alone. This shows that confidence is growing and support measures are working.
🚗⚡ November’s #EV sales figures are in, and the picture is increasingly clear: the shift to electric is well underway.
@New_AutoMotive reports that EVs made up more than a quarter of new car sales last month - a strong sign that the electric market is continuing to mature.
Forget LinkedIn or other sites. X is the most incredible place to connect and save millions of dogs…
🐕 I help street dogs in Asia. It’s my life’s work to half the street dog population globally.
📱 Woke up one morning my phone going crazy. X users had told the president of El Salvador @nayibbukele I was the guy to possibly help.
✈️ Chatted to his team and I jumped on a plane. 5 day round trip. Chatted about how to fix the problem in an entire country as a best in class template for other nations to copy one day.
Thank you X users. You might just have saved millions of dogs in the coming years ❤️
⚡ The Government plans to make home charging easier and cheaper, mandating #EV chargepoints in covered car parks and consulting on removing planning permission for cross-pavement gullies.
This could mean charging from just 2p per mile and saving up to £250 in fees.
Great news for accessible EV charging! The House of Lords has backed an amendment to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill to make public charging safer and more accessible for disabled drivers. We’re proud to support this crucial step towards an EV network that works for everyone
