Thank you @adcock_brett for setting us on the path to robotics abundance. Chinese bots dance & fight for views. F.03s sorts pkgs for 24+ hours at human speed. Utility beats spectacle. Productivity compounds. Abundance follows.
@8teAPi We are seeing too very different philosophies on AI adoption specifically and what an AI economy means in general; the case studies are ‘talking past one another’.
@David_Charts2@CliffordAsness $1M windfall to each individual = inflation across basic necessities then a violent wages/prices spiral and crash. Ask the Weimar Republic how that went.
@josephcollins77@JJCarafano I’m personally against all gerrymandering. That said, you are incorrect. New York put their oar in the water first with a proposed redistricting (Gerrymandering); Texas was just more efficient in getting it done.
@8teAPi@deanwball We discuss ‘alignment’ ad nauseam. Less discussed is who & by what standard is it defined., Furthermore is it a singular construct or will we have the equivalent of ‘relative’/situational alignment based on intended utilization. I suspect the latter whether we like it or not.
This isn’t an example of China indigenizing advanced chip supply chains. XPeng’s Turning chips are made at TSMC using U.S. tools - likely on the 7nm or 5nm node.
It is an example of how export controls limiting China’s access to TSMC help US chip design firms preserve market share. If we want XPeng to use Nvidia Orin chips, we should restrict XPeng from making chips at TSMC using US tech!
The policy mistake here is that Chinese firms are still allowed to design any chips on TSMC’s lines at 5nm and below - these nodes are overbooked for the foreseeable future and better than anything China has domestically. There is no reason any wafer allocation on those lines should be going to Chinese chip designers.
@emollick Agree with everything except, "Bring on more RAs,...". Everything we have seen from other sectors already impacted indicates you will have fewer RAs, but AI will make them more productive.
Did past work regarding EV grid impact. Implementation is the constraint. Assuming eight cars charging at a time you are roughly talking about 12 MW peak demand (~10K US homes); 20K stations would be 240 GWs of generation; not factoring transmission and distribution.

Introducing BYD FLASH Charging Technology, enabling a charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes.
To accelerate the transition to electric mobility, BYD also announced the rollout of FLASH Charging Stations, starting with 20,000 across China by the end of 2026.

@8teAPi Real question is when will the un-augmented mind no longer have the ability to realign with every baseline change. When does (pick your augmentation mechanism) become a required norm?
@michaeljmcnair One only needs to study a bit on the ‘Warring States Period” to understand the ingrained philosophy and tactics of the CCP regarding geopolitics.
@8teAPi As Justin alludes to toward the end, most people are just not willing (for a multitude of reasons) to go back and do the required foundational work.
