Sailors are reunited with loved ones as America-class amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) returns to Sasebo, Japan, after concluding a dynamic six-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.

Tripoli is forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan, and serves as the flagship of Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 7 / Commander, Task Force (CTF) 76.

Eyes in the sky help keep the seas safe.

During #CARATSriLanka, a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft is operating alongside the @srilanka_navy & @airforcelk --who are flying the U.S.-provided Beechcraft King Air--to strengthen maritime domain awareness and improve how our forces respond together to real-world challenges at sea.

As Senior Defense Official Lt. Col. Matthew House noted, exercises like CARAT build the trust and practical experience that allow our forces to work seamlessly together when responding to maritime emergencies, humanitarian crises, and natural disasters. Together, we're strengthening a partnership that helps keep the Indian Ocean safe, secure, and open for all.
