H.E. Eyob Tekalign (PhD), Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, engaged in a policy dialogue today with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ethiopia (AMCHAM).

As a business community of United States based companies and investors operating in Ethiopia, AMCHAM represents the private sector, a key segment of the national economy with which the National Bank of Ethiopia regularly convenes to discuss policy developments, gather feedback, and clarify regulatory expectations.

In response to questions raised by the moderator and attendees, Governor Eyob discussed the inflation outlook for 2026 to 2027, recent developments in monetary policy and interest rates, foreign exchange repatriation of profits and dividends, progress in Ethiopia’s digital finance agenda, the entry of foreign banks, the Bank’s short to medium term priorities, and prospects for future engagement with the National Bank of Ethiopia.
