NEW ZEALAND HIT BY TWO STRONG EARTHQUAKES WITHIN 44 MINUTES

New Zealand’s South Island suddenly started shaking tonight.

A M5.5 struck near Milford Sound at an extremely shallow depth of about 5 km.

Then, just 44 minutes later, a M5.6 hit nearby.

And it didn’t end there.

More earthquakes followed, including M4.8 and M4.6, with shaking reported across Queenstown, Wānaka, Dunedin and beyond.

Two strong earthquakes within 44 minutes, followed by more shaking in the same region.
