Piers Morgan reveals investors just valued his Uncensored media empire at $145,000,000 after ITV forced him out over his Meghan Markle comments.
Heâs owned it for just 18 months. Itâs now worth 100 years of his old salary at ITV.
PIERS MORGAN: âWe announced yesterday weâve just finished an investor round on Uncensored.â
âItâs got four and a half million subscribers now, generates a lot of cash from advertising and sponsorships.â
âI knew I had to build a business which would actually in the end become much less reliant on me. So I decided to take Uncensored as the brand of the business.â
âAnd weâve just done World Cup Uncensored⌠And thatâs blown up as well. Weâre doing bigger numbers than Gary Linekerâs show, which Netflix paid $14 million for.â
âWe donât pay anyone to market our content. We do it all ourselves.â
âThe investors have valued the business $145 million US.â
KARL STEFANOVIC: âBut how many years?â
PIERS MORGAN: âIâve only owned it a year and a half.â
âWeâve got a business worth nearly $150 million in 18 months.â
KARL STEFANOVIC: âCongratulations.â
PIERS MORGAN: âI think the skyâs the limit for this stuff.â
All of the happiness in life is realizing you are 100% in control of your life, and you're capable of making tough decisions that might hurt for a couple of weeks and months, but can lead to long-term happiness.
Founders who raise seed after seed, dilute their equity, and still canât turn a profit get celebrated
Founders who bootstrap, stay risk on, have majority equity & profitable businesses get overlooked
Clout over cashflow nowadays.
Mark Cuban says you can sell your company for a billion dollars and walk away with $30,000,000 and still be working forever for somebody else
âYou get caught in that trap of, I did my seed, I did my Angel, I did my Series A, then my Series B and you think thatâs the accomplishment, youâve already failedâ
âIâve seen huge multi-billion-dollar exits where the original founder⌠itâs not nothing to make $20, $30 millionâ
âBut out of a multi-billion-dollar exit to make $30 million? That means youâre working forever for somebody elseâ
I never wanted a regular life. I always wanted to be successful. Even when I was broke, I always knew it was temporary. I never accepted my current situation and always looked for a way up. I never got comfortable being uncomfortable. And when my other businesses failed, I never lost my enthusiasm to find a new business.
Optimism is my superpower.
@BillHaney77@grittywuzhere I agree with Bill, @ShakurStevenson the finer details of the contract can be hashed out behind the scenes but they put it on your toes 144 you said it, this ainât the time to be stuttering.
All you need is a good six months. Half a year of crazy hyper-focus. Train. Avoid distractions. Build your credentials. That's it. Life changes. That's the anatomy of a rags-to-riches story.
The richest people I know go from idea to action immediately. Thereâs no analysing. Itâs just straight implementation. Youâd be much further in life if you acted as soon as you thought. Try it.
@ShakurStevenson No not yet, hall of famers got to be at least undisputed or have beaten 2 or more other hall famers.
You will get there Iâm sure but not yet
