@jessica_sjsu I totally agree with this. There are times where I feel uncomfortable with how intertwined our material and online lives have become. Where does one end and the other begin nowadays?

I think it will be interesting to see how people and organizations will try and find new ways of engagement. It is such an important part of being successful. The social media landscape is constantly shifting. Maybe it will be with AR/VR as others are saying. #info246w82

While tracking likes and follows are important, the numbers on the screen don't always translate to the "real" world. Libraries should take note of whether the things they post on SM translate to meaningful results in their org (events, check-outs, etc.) #info246w719

@jettkuch I think this a great idea, letting the library teach patrons about online privacy and providing them with knowledge that can benefit them in the future!

Libraries should be upfront with their patrons on their privacy rights and what type of data/information the library can collect. I like the option of opting out that was discussed in this week's lecture as a way to provide the individual with more agency. #INFO246w75

@JulieMcP43 They have a number of posts featuring employees in the library and at library events. I find them very ... human, if that makes sense. They are more in-the-moment, which helps make things feel more authentic and a reminder that it isn't a faceless institution.

Because of this class, I decided to check out how my local library (Sacramento Public Lib) uses social media. They regularly use Instagram, posting pics of events as well as book recommendations. This makes the organization seem more personable and approachable! #INFO246w621
