This week, the Gender Justice Team was in Kargi and Maikona Wards, Marsabit County, supporting the operationalization of the Kenya Children's Assembly (KCA). Through KCA, children are given a platform to voice their views and participate in decisions affecting them.
Our Health Justice Team is proudly representing EACHRights at the 9th RHNK Pan-African & Youth SRHR Scientific Conference 2026. Day 2 focused on innovative solutions to address SGBV, HIV, and adolescent pregnancies, reinforcing the need for youth-centred action across Africa.

From 27–29 April 2026, with CEHURD, we convened SRHR social movement actors in Uganda to develop a strong, evidence-based submission for the 4th Cycle UPR. The workshop strengthened CSO capacity, reviewed progress & gaps, and amplified advocacy for SRHR accountability.
In Rabai, Kilifi, we partnered with @amnesty and @esrc_hakijamii to strengthen grassroots CSOs, boosting skills in project management, resource mobilization, networking, and advocacy, empowering communities to engage duty bearers and drive lasting reforms.

Honoured to host the @amplify change team, our donors supporting two SRHR projects under our Health Justice Programme. We discussed project progress, next steps for success, and future opportunities for continued collaboration.
In partnership with Pendekezo Letu, we convened the UPR Child Rights & Education Cluster stakeholders to finalize CSO action points on the State UPR Implementation Plan, strengthening coordination, resource mobilization, and accountability for children’s rights in Kenya.
In collaboration with Kilifi County CSOs and the County Department of Health, convened stakeholders to review the Draft Kilifi County AYP Health Strategy (2025–2030). Discussions focused on GBV, SRHR, mental health, and HIV/STI prevention, advancing youth participation.
@Zamara_fdn joined the Kenya Stakeholders’ Coalition on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR Kenya), convened by the @EACHRights for a courtesy call and engagement meeting on Kenya’s 4th Cycle UPR.
We focused on strengthening accountability for recommendations on Women’s Rights, SRHR, Health, and Child Rights. We also raised urgent concerns on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), calling for stronger policy, digital safety frameworks, and accountability mechanisms to address emerging online harms affecting women and girls in all their diversities.
The @HakiKNCHR reaffirmed its commitment to continued partnership with civil society to advance human rights and drive implementation of UPR recommendations in Kenya.

Our Project Officer, Madina Mohamed, joined a 2-day training by @FidaKenya on combating VAW/G, with a focus on technology-facilitated violence. Strengthening feminist action to demand accountability and safer digital spaces for women and girls.
Under our Health Justice Programme, we validated a baseline survey on the state of SRHR social movements in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, strengthening evidence-based regional advocacy and aligning priorities with the UPR mechanism.
