We’re starting the year with active work to further strengthen Ukraine, particularly our air defense, in the wake of brutal Russian air attacks.
I just had my first call this year with @JustinTrudeau. We focused primarily on security. I informed him about Russia’s most recent missile and drone attacks on our cities and villages.
On New Year’s Eve alone, our air defense forces managed to shoot down over 80 drones. Unfortunately, there were also hits that damaged civilian infrastructure in the Sumy, Odesa, Lviv, Poltava, Kyiv, Donetsk, and Kherson regions.
I am grateful to Prime Minister Trudeau for his willingness to assist us in protecting the Ukrainian sky, particularly by providing additional NASAMS systems and missiles.
We also discussed our work on security guarantees and agreed that our teams will soon start a bilateral dialogue to prepare a relevant agreement.
We also talked about the preparation of the fourth Peace Formula meeting of advisors in Davos in January. I appreciate Justin and Canada assisting our relevant efforts on a global scale.
I am also grateful for the reassurance that Canada’s support for Ukraine will continue this year, both in terms of military and financial assistance.
We value cooperation with Canada and we appreciate every step in support of our state and our independence. 🇺🇦🇨🇦

Kyiv is under brutal attack! 99 missiles fired by Russia at civilians. No alternative for the EU than to step up support for Ukraine now. Militarily, financially.
Putin is at war with the European way of life that Ukraine defends. Wake up, Europe!

It is almost 35 years since the Delors committee of European central bank governors produced the Delors report on EMU. The great man's passing prompted me to re-read my short piece from 2015 on the euro's design flaws. They were not all his fault: https://t.co/n6TOYjU2Vf @CER_EU
One month before Russia invaded Ukraine, I stood trial at the High Court. And now I wait, in purgatory, to be judged.
But I believe this trial and the silence around it - & all the Kremlin's men - has revealed something profoundly rotten at the heart of the British state.

Which "constructive amendments"? The one that would prevent rapists getting GRCs? Oh no, that was voted down.
There is no support for this appalling Bill. Stop flogging a pantomime horse!
I spoke with UK Prime Minister @RishiSunak on Russia’s continued air terror against Ukrainian cities. Over the previous five days, the enemy has launched at least 500 missiles and drones toward Ukraine.
I am grateful to the United Kingdom for its substantial and comprehensive aid in bolstering Ukraine's air defense, particularly with radars, advanced anti-drone systems, and missiles.
We discussed our further defense cooperation, with a particular emphasis on air defense and long-range capabilities.
We also acknowledged the productive work on the bilateral agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine following the G7 Vilnius Declaration. We should finalize it as quickly as feasible.
We also coordinated steps ahead of the fourth Peace Formula meeting of advisors in Davos, discussed the preparation of the leaders’ Global Peace Summit, and discussed our joint work on specific Peace Formula points.

Radical idea: what if politicians/government departments didn't respond to delivery failures with defensive quotes ('everything is going great') but by saying 'here's what we've learned and here's what we're going to do differently'.

Rescue operations in the aftermath of another Russian strike continue. All the services are working. Over 500 State Emergency Service rescuers, municipal services, energy workers, and police officers.
Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. As of now, 92 people have been reported injured. They are all receiving assistance. Unfortunately, four people were killed. My condolences go out to their families and close ones.
Our air defense warriors have been doing an incredible job for the past three days. Since December 31st, Russian monsters have already fired 170 “Shahed” drones and dozens of missiles of various types. The absolute majority of them targeted civilian infrastructure. I am grateful to all of our partners who are helping us strengthen our air shield. Every day and night, this helps save hundreds of lives that would have been lost if we didn't have "Patriots" and other defense systems.
This year, we will continue to work with everyone around the world who values life to bolster our air shield and hold Russia accountable for everything it has done. The terrorist state must feel the repercussions of its actions.

Tonight has shown us that Labour are never to be trusted in Government they will throw women and girls' rights under the bus. The attack on Tonia proves this. #LabourLosingWomen
What a difference a year makes, Sam has discovered eyeliner and is thus no longer a man and thinks he has the right to rip up women’s hard won rights
Never forget how much these men hate us

Your regular reminder that girls and women's legal rights as set out in the 2010 Equality Act crafted by @UKLabour are not 'transphobic rhetoric and dog whistles'.
To imagine they are is pure male entitlement.
