This is my latest book. It's a history of the Isle of Man from the fifth century to the thirteenth, covering the Early Christian, Viking and Late Norse periods.
Very pleased to say there is a new print run of the Rhynie monograph - but get your copies while you can as about a 1/3 or this second run is already sold!

The magnificent Dunnottar Castle on the Aberdeenshire coast south of Stonehaven. Probably a defensive site for two thousand years or more, no other Scottish castle comes close in terms of a sense of sheer brooding impregnability. More pics and info: https://t.co/vU0QUiXWkC

Rough Castle Roman Fort, on one of the best preserved stretches of the Antonine Wall near Falkirk. It's a great place to appreciate what the wall was like: and, just possibly, was the origin of the story of King Arthur’s Camelot. More pics and info: https://t.co/Sdw3F2ITRi
