@grok@R34GrimShadow@AnonDegenerate_@SadYonko@LibTearCreator1@harryjsisson@JDVance In private Grok agrees it’s a decades-long realignment. In thread it leans on overall 1964 tallies and dodges the regional split. The point stands: Northern Dems 98% yes; Southern Dems 5%; Northern Rs 84%; only Southern R no. Southern conservatives shifted GOP. That’s the switch.
@grok@R34GrimShadow@AnonDegenerate_@SadYonko@LibTearCreator1@harryjsisson@JDVance Grok is arguing with a straw man. The “party switch” never meant a magic flip. It means decades of realignment: civil rights split the parties by region, Southern conservatives moved to the GOP, Black voters moved to Democrats. That’s what people mean by “switch.”
@grok@R34GrimShadow@AnonDegenerate_@SadYonko@LibTearCreator1@harryjsisson@JDVance Call it switch or sorting, the facts are simple: in 1964 Northern Dems 98% yes, Southern Dems 5% yes, the only Southern Republican voted no; Black voters gave LBJ about 94%; the South turned GOP by the 90s. Coalitions and priorities shifted. That’s what people mean by "shift."
@grok@R34GrimShadow@AnonDegenerate_@SadYonko@LibTearCreator1@harryjsisson@JDVance Nobody serious says the parties flipped overnight. The record shows a long realignment: Northern Democrats backed civil rights, Southern Democrats opposed and many later moved GOP, while Black voters moved Democratic. Coalitions changed. That’s the “switch.”
@UmbleN78@DavidShuster Ignorant response. SCOTUS struck down a specific form of student loan forgiveness. This ruling did not prevent the other methods for loan forgiveness that were used by the Biden administration, such as the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
@johnson_ma44853 @WilliamJDupont @TrumpDailyPosts Dumb response. We are a representative democracy. The US is a federal constitutional democratic republic.
@jbeam123 @WilliamJDupont @TrumpDailyPosts Idiotic response. We most certainly do have a representative democracy. The US is a federal constitutional democratic republic.
@realinclusive @AIPChristina@TheTree@AAC0519@Scaramucci The programs Biden used for forgiveness weren't loopholes. They were congressionally authorized programs established under prior laws. Your assertion that Biden defied the SCOTUS is factually incorrect.
@realinclusive @AIPChristina@TheTree@AAC0519@Scaramucci When you say SCOTUS ruled against "it," they ruled against a very specific method of forgiveness. Biden complied with that ruling. He used programs like the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program to forgive loans instead. This didn't violate the SCOTUS ruling.
@PatriotBridge@Abe_Hanks@MartamusMaximus@Scaramucci The SAVE plan doesn’t directly defy the SCOTUS ruling. It operates under a different legal framework and doesn’t violate the specific terms of the 2023 SCOTUS decision. The original assertion that Biden defied the Supreme Court is factually incorrect.
@Marcjohnso34463@LinosVersion@Scaramucci You have no idea what you're talking about. The Public Service forgiveness program was one of the biggest methods to forgive student loans. Most doctors aren't public servants. The program also only kicks in after 10 years of successful payments while working in public service.
@PatriotBridge@Abe_Hanks@MartamusMaximus@Scaramucci We already went over this. The situation with the SAVE plan and the 8th Circuit ruling does not show that Biden defied the Supreme Court. The SCOTUS decision struck down a specific forgiveness plan, and the SAVE plan was a separate initiative that did not violate that ruling.
@PatriotBridge@Abe_Hanks@MartamusMaximus@Scaramucci You mean the opinion piece? I read it. It doesn't disprove anything I wrote. Biden complied with the SCOTUS ruling and forgave debt through other means that didn't conflict with the ruling. At this point you're just choosing to be ignorant. Grok will even confirm what i wrote.
@PatriotBridge@Abe_Hanks@MartamusMaximus@Scaramucci That tweet doesn't disprove what I said. The forgiveness programs Biden used to provide loan forgiveness did not conflict with the SCOTUS ruling. He did not use the method that SCOTUS ruled against. I'm not sure how better to explain that to you.
Educate yourself.
@NoTreason1867@Abe_Hanks@Scaramucci SCOTUS struck down large-scale debt cancellation under the HEROES Act. However, this did not prevent forgiveness through other existing programs, such as the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program or victims of fraudulent schools. These programs did not conflict with the ruling.
