just here for the views

they really built monasteries on top of these giant rock pillars

meteora, greece

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

waterfalls pouring straight into water that clear is actually unfair

plitvice lakes, croatia

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

mitre peak just rises straight out of the water like that. milford sound, new zealand

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

this is just salt. for miles. cracked into hexagons that keep going until they hit the sky

📍 Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

patagonia really said mountains but make them horns. torres del paine, chile

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

that light beam is actually real. antelope canyon, arizona just does this when the sun hits right

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

this forest is made of razor-sharp limestone. tsingy de bemaraha, madagascar

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

these trees in deadvlei, namibia have been dead for like 900 years and still won't fall down

just standing there on a cracked clay pan in front of a massive orange dune

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

deserts aren't supposed to have lagoons. lençóis maranhenses, brazil

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

these umbrella trees grow on exactly one island on earth. socotra, yemen looks like another planet

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@visitnorthyork Knaresborough at that hour is hard to beat. The viaduct arches lit gold and doubled in the River Nidd, with the town tucked into the hillside above, looks almost too perfect to be real. How often does the river sit that still there?

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@ZhangChaosheng Sunday morning from above like this is something else. The fog swallowing the road and just letting the treetops poke through, with that soft light breaking over it, makes the whole town look like it is still half asleep.

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@Frank_T_Smith @OMSYSTEMcameras Hawk Falls looks great in those tiers, Frank. The silky drop in the middle framed by all that green, with just a hint of yellow starting in the trees above the rocks in Pennsylvania, feels like early fall arriving.

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@m0taz Know exactly what you mean with this one. That low cloud pouring over the dark Alaska slopes, with another layer sitting right above the water, is easy to miss first time round and then it stops you when you look again.

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@GraceOnFire2 That cloud really does sit like a lid over the whole road to Lake Erie. I love how the bright edge on it contrasts with the gold cattails below, it makes the bend in the road feel like it is heading straight under the weather.

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@viewbug Waiting for the wind to pause is the part people skip, and it shows. That lone figure on the tripod by the foggy water, with the bare trees fading out behind, really sells how still it has to be.

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@WestonShirey For a reflection that clean at Cirque of the Towers, I would happily be up well before dawn. That golden light on the peak doubling in the still water, with snow still sitting on the banks, is worth the cold start.

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

machu picchu in the clouds is a whole mood

built in the 1400s high up in the andes, and the fog still rolls in like it never left

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

the eiffel tower from underneath is a whole different building

[Postcards from Earth 🌍 @EarthPostcard]

@peaklass1 You can feel that run of light in this one, the sunlit tree and hillside up top, then the valley still quiet below with the river, the stone wall and that gate on the path. Worth every bit of the pre dawn wait. How often do you get a morning that clear up there?
