Tenant protections benefit the majority of Black and brown Oakland residents, who rent their homes: 64% of Black Oaklanders and 60% of Latinx Oaklanders rented their homes in 2019. We need strong protections to keep our communities safe and sheltered.

Tonight, the Concord City Council will be discussing the housing element. Submit a public comment by 3:00pm or attend the meeting at 6:30 to let the council know how critical it is to pass tenant protections and provide more support for renters.

Access to an attorney gives renters a fair chance at explaining their story at eviction court. If the County doesn't correct the imbalance of power & provide tenant legal services, Contra Costa families will continue to lose their homes.
