Went to concert at local church this eve. Couperin's Lecons de Tenebres for 2 Sops, organ and bass viol + harpsichord music.
Announcement: One of the Sops was 'indisposed' so instead we had
DAME EMMA KIRKBY.
Wait, what???
Yes, I kid you not.
And it was a free, donation welcome!!
