Bandits K+ll 5, Abd¥ct 150, B¥rn Villages in a Midnight Operation in Niger State Community
T£rror struck Baga community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State as armed bandits launched a d+adly att@ck, k+lling five villagers and abd¥cting about 150 others after setting homes ablaze.
According to a local source, the heavily armed g¥nmen stormed the community with sophisticated w+apons and expl@sives, unleashing chaos. Residents who fled into the bush for safety were reportedly sh+t, while many others were rounded up and taken away.
“The att@ckers were many and are believed to have come in from neighbouring Kaduna State,” the source revealed, adding that several houses were set on f+re, with thick smoke seen rising across affected areas.
Local vigilante members who attempted to resist the invasion were overpowered, with some sustaining serious g¥nshot inj¥ries and rushed to the hospital for treatment. Security personnel have since been deployed to the area in a bid to restore order and rescue the abd¥cted victims.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Shiroro LGA, Ishyaku Bawa, said casualties were recorded and several others inj¥red. He noted that efforts are currently focused on treating the wounded, adding that more details would be provided later.
