Thanks so much for all the support to get to this point, it would not have been possible without you! We now look forward to working closely with West Calder and Harburn Community Development Trust, stay tuned for events and volunteering opportunities in the future 😊
Thanks to everyone who joined us this morning despite the chilly wind out there for a coffee, cake and a chat at the woodland, and our local MSP Angela Constance for joining too and cutting the ribbon!
I love a good ribbon cutting ceremony! Fab morning meeting @EasterBreich Wood Community Group and celebrating their achievements as they take ownership of their local woodland. All this is possible thanks to funding from the #ScottishLandFund 🥳
The woodland is an extremely high fire risk, therefore we cannot have fires in the wood. We are grateful on this occasion the group were able to put the fire out, but please we ask no fires in the wood.

The photos here are from the weekend, unfortunately we found a group of people having a fire in the woods, but thankfully they were able to put it out when we approached them and asked.
Easter Breich Wood is owned by a community charity for the wider community, for everyone to use and enjoy - we all need to be responsible to care for it and ensure it doesn’t get damaged.
🎉We are delighted to let you know that we have now completed the purchase of the woodland on behalf of the local community! We hope you can join us for a coffee & cake at the woodland on Saturday 23rd April to officially launch the community's ownership of the woodland.
Help to support your local river by signing up for @ForthRiversT's 'Outfall Safari' programme. If you are interested in taking part and helping to locate pollution issues in the River Almond, please follow the link to FRT's short survey form below.

A very merry Christmas, and a happy new year! Looking forward to what 2022 has in store, thank you all for your continued support! From all of us here at Easter Breich Wood. 🌟
We are fortunate enough to have Roe deer that call the Wood home. Here are some hastily taken snaps of the deer grazing in the fields next to the wood. All seem to be healthy and well fed, let's hope it's not a hard winter for them.

On Sunday morning, the annual Shale Trail 25km fun run, and for the first time this year a 50km ultra, will be passing through our paths at the woodland.
Best of luck to all the runners taking part, thanks to West Lothian Running Club for organising this great event. 🏃🏃♀️
the woodland looking very autumnal these days! …not to mention a bit damp under foot after all that rain! ☔️ still looks beautiful no matter what the weather is doing 😊
