All this is means is that they formed their concision before there was any evidence (or lack of evidence), and nothing would change their mind.
This is a clear case of coming to your conclusion first and then working backwards in an attempt to justify it, no matter what the actual facts are.
This isn’t vindicating, it’s damning.
@Riffraff3232 The atmosphere is cool but the food is just fine. Like 7/10
Not bad by any means! But also not the best you can get. I’d still eat a meal there for sure
@CoreyWriting I knew there was horseshit in the air when they were suddenly skeptical of the rape and sexual assault claims made by Israeli women about their treatment at the hands of Hamas.
If that wasn’t a masks-off moment, nothing is.
@StarcasticR He’s requesting a trade so there’s a lot less leverage on the side of Detroit, since they are in a position where they essentially have to find some deal as opposed to having the luxury of not trading him if they don’t get what they want like under normal circumstances
Yes, but there are some people who are intelligent, honest, and rational but also just straight up hateful and openly embrace their hatred.
For them, their hatred is rational because they see this embrace of hatred as being in line with their own self interest and preferences. It gets them what they want. What they lack isn’t rationality, but rather empathy, much the same way sociopaths are willing to destroy the lives of other people in the cold, calculated pursuit of their own wants and desires.
People cheered Oct 7 on Oct 8th not because they were irrational, but because they enjoyed it. They wanted it. It’s a form of sociopathy that is laser focused on one particular group of people, and them only.
They will claim to have empathy, yet always seem to be willing to carve out exceptions when it comes to Jews and Israelis.
@vorzman34142@carolannleif I mean you’re not wrong, but it does lower the bar among people who are more mainstream.
Republicans do this too, I am not a fan of them either to be clear.
