"Whenever I meet people for the first time, I get them to talk for ten minutes. Then I size them up from the exact opposite perspective of all they've told me. Do you think that's crazy?" — the girl with the amazing ears in Haruki Murakami's novel, A Wild Sheep Chase
@MahanEsfahani@imanimosley Side topic: There's a YouTube vid of a young rapper listening to Frank Sinatra for the 1st time & really digging it. I think folks shared it b/c it was nice to see a youngun' being open-minded to older songs. I wonder how many of us could listen to rap with similarly open ears.
@DirtyPaloma I think making a recording allows you to preserve an idealized version of the opera since you can go back and fix spots as needed. But it's so expensive that I wonder if it's worth it if you're working with a limited budget. Might be better off hiring a team of videographers.
This night at the opera has carnival games, food trucks, and aerial silks to go along with the usual operatic passion and jealousy! #PAGBLO#pagliacci https://t.co/2l0a4cIFDg
In the BLO's Pagliacci, there are singers scattered all throughout the audience and when you're seated right next to them -- Whoa, that's loud! #yesIheardYou#PAGBLO#pagliacci@BostLyricOpera https://t.co/2l0a4cIFDg
