[WATCH] A number of congressmen in the US have written a letter to President Donald Trump, asking him to revoke SA's preference benefits under AGOA. The congress says this is due to what they say are 'human rights abuses' and South Africa's continued insistence to undermine American security and foreign policy interests. JUST IN: The High Court has declared the City of Johannesburg’s decision to assign 10 bodyguards and six vehicles to the mayor invalid.

NEWS: The MK Party has suspended two of its MPLs in the KwaZulu-Natal legislature, accussing them of refusing to hand the control of the party’s millions given for constituency work to Willies Mchunu and Inkosi Phathiszwe Chiliza.

The suspended members are Thobani Zuma and Dr Kwazi Mbanjwa - both are longtime associates of former President Jacob Zuma.

NEWS: A group of disgruntled MK Party members have gathered outside the home of former President Jacob Zuma in Nkandla in northern KwaZulu-Natal to protest against the suspension of Thobani Zuma, Dr Kwazi Mbanjwa and Sifiso Zuma.

Yesterday, the party’s high command chaired by Zuma suspended the three.

Thobani and Mbanjwa are accused of refusing to hand over the control of the party’s funds from the KwaZulu-Natal legislature.

The funds believed to be around R60 million is money given to the party for constituency offices, work, and salaries for support staff.

Sifiso, who is the party’s caucus manager, is accused of employing 60 employees without being authorised, thus bankrupting the caucus - The News Box
