@TheAmanuensis Strange take. Suggest you look up where the new POTUS, VP, DefenseSec and rest of the cabinet went to school. How many times do you think the VP has been to Aspen? How about Elon and Vivek, where do you think they were educated and hang out? It ain’t Des Moines.
@RitchieTorres Honest question, do you follow him on Twitter? He’s pretty unfiltered, so a nice way for you to get to know him better. See what you think!
@jaredpolis Hey @GovofCO, You’re supporting a guy who said the following, well done: “Covid-19…is ethnically targeted. It attacks certain races disproportionately. Covid-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and Black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese.”
@BenjySarlin Dude seems pretty self-destructive to me. But maybe his “let me share pornographic pictures with colleagues on the House floor” was 3-D chess that I’m misunderstanding.
Exxon CEO tells Trump to chill on climate policy: “I’ve been advising that we have some level of consistency ... policy switching back and forth as political cycles occur and elections happen and administrations change... [is] not good for the economy.” https://t.co/n0ipMCPTlW
John Oliver implores the Senate to pass the PRESS Act! It's already passed the House unanimously.
It would protect journalists across the political spectrum from spying and the threat of jail time for doing their jobs.
It is a dangerous situation when supporters of a party with absolute control of all branches of government still feel aggrieved, victimized and marginalized. It can justify all sorts of abuses. I hope this attitude shifts after MAGA takes power, but I’m worried.
But, ironically, the President can launch nuclear weapons without any due process, killing hundreds of millions, maybe billions, of people. No mortal—Democrat or Republican— should be given that sort of unchecked power.
No, you can’t just deport people without legal due process.
No, you can’t just fire federal employees without legal due process.
No, you can’t just impose across the board tariffs without Congress.
If Trump tries, he’ll get SUED — slowing or stopping him entirely.
To re-iterate what should be widely known but isn’t—there are no nuclear checks & balances. The president has sole launch authority. In some scenarios, top officers at Stratcom might not even know the launch order has been sent. It is a true nuclear monarchy, and it is obscene.
@RadioFreeTom I have MAGA keep telling me over and over that there is a nuclear strike authorization chain of command that can hold Trump in check. That he cannot singularly order a nuclear strike. If nothing else, military will refuse to turn key because they'll discern it is an illegal order
@TomiLahren Yes, this is called a policy difference. Liberals do not want to spend government resources on this particular policy. It’s quite healthy to have disagreements over policy! That’s democracy! Then you have elections and the winners set the policy. It’s not a problem!

@poloniumman Meaning it should be a political decision more than an economic one (which in this case I support, by the way, despite it breaking my heart to see the peaceful continent re-arming)
…With an impossible-to-calculate ROI bc if it works you never have to use. However, militaries initially built for deterrence (USA post WW2) find adventures (Iraq) when their mission suddenly is over. Plus also opportunity cost of reduced investment in schools, hospitals
