@Hotwire@thriftycars I appreciate the help, but that doesn’t erase the bungling by their initial support team. I shouldn’t have had to complain on Twitter just to get this simple matter rectified.
Never use @Hotwire! If it looks like you are getting a great deal it is BS. They sell you a price and tell you that all taxes and fees are included but they aren’t.
Imagine showing up to pick up your “fully paid, including all taxes and fees” car to find out that you owe $250.
@Hotwire finally helped resolve this issue and my $250 was refunded by @thriftycars . I DM’d Hotwire. They provided a number for escalated support who finally agreed that I should not have to pay the fees and facilitated a refund by Thrifty.
@chrislhayes Reducing taxes and regulations on corporations and wealthy individuals is and has been their only real goal at least since the Reagan era. Everything else they talk about (primarily cultural issues) is to get votes and the power to achieve that objective.
@elonmusk Moves like this manipulate Trump into giving you whatever you want. Foreign adversaries who say “Great Idea Mr. President!” to any stupid shit he dreams up do so for the same reason.
@mattyglesias Because nothing he did in his first term helped keep prices low, he had no idea how to keep prices low, and just made a bunch of bullshit promises he just made up because he is and has always been full of shit.
@SenWhitehouse Exactly. The Executive has no constitutional authority to regulate anything. These independent bodies are created by congress to regulate under the conditions congress specifies. If the conditions are invalidated by the court they must also invalidate the executive’s authority.
@elonmusk There is already enough abundance for all. It is just distributed unevenly. In a future with more abundance how is that problem solved? Any abundance is limited and humans have unlimited wants. Let’s implement a framework for shared abundance now.
@mattyglesias Ending the war was the right thing to do, because starting it was the wrong thing to do. Leading us into a defeat this humiliating and strategically disastrous demonstrates how unfit he is. Dems should press for Rs to remove or defend him on record. Use this to defeat them all.
@ggreenwald Ending the war was the right thing to do, but only because starting it was the wrong thing to do. Even if you agree with the goals, leading our country into a defeat this humiliating and strategically disastrous demonstrates how unfit he is. Republicans should remove him.
