Glassvow Devlog #2
Every foe in Glassvow is made of glass, so HP isn't the only thing you can break.
Each foe also has a facet gauge. Most have four facets; elites and bosses have more. Every unblocked hit chips one. Fill the gauge and the glass shatters: the foe skips its next action and spills two Embers.
The catch is that each break adds one facet to the gauge, so the second shatter costs more than the first.
That makes timing the real decision. Break it now, or save the break for the turn its intent really hurts.
More of how it's built soon. Follow along if you like seeing the rules behind a deckbuilder.

@jamesto Thanks so much ;-). I started working on this as a break from my main game and it just flowed so nicely, I ended up concentrating on it as my primary game. Appreciate your comment.

CornerQuest Demo is LIVE! ๐
After months of hard work, user feedback, and countless changes, the CornerQuest Demo is finally live!
CornerQuest is an incremental flavoured auto-battler that runs in a smaller window. Your mage auto-fights waves of enemies while you do other things (or enage more fully with the game if desired)
It includes incremental progression of spell upgrades, unlocking of new spells and forms, standard incremental loop but with actual combat. And a prestige (awakening system). Runes can be spent for permanent upgrades that persist between runs.
What's in the demo:
- 15 waves (~30-45 min)
- 6 spells with branching upgrades (ice that slows vs fire that burns enemies over time, that kind of thing)
- Permanent meta-upgrades that carry between runs
- Unlimited upgrade level for most upgrades
- NG+ mode for repeated runs with increasing difficulty

Just launched a Substack: SteamPulse.
What Steam players say after 50 hours of play.
What landed, what frustrated, where the genre whitespace is.
For indie devs, small publishers, and marketing folks making build decisions.

I'm taking a break from making my own game, so I built a tool that reads thousands of Steam reviews and tells you what players actually think.
First run: 5,393 reviews of Vampire Crawlers.
98% positive. Viral launch. The kind of release most devs would kill for.
The single loudest complaint, even inside the positive reviews, is the quit button.
Not balance. Not bugs. The exit flow ;-)
243 UI/UX mentions.
The top funny review on the whole page is a joke about how hard it is to quit the game.
Five thousand reviews, a 98% rating, and the thing players keep bringing up is a hidden button ;-)

When classic RPGs still had a place in this world: Icewind Dale (Black Isle Studios, 2000).
Beautiful box art, a 155-page manual packed with game mechanics, character creation, combat rules, spells, and rich lore, plus a cloth map of the Icewind Dale region.
I miss that era.
๐ง Corner Quest demo now available on Linux!
After much work, docker containers, and updates of my old linux box, the linux demo is finally available.
Download free on Steam.
