A NEW DAWN. THE OPPOSITION UNITES FOR NIGERIA
Today, something historic is happening.
At the residence of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, the leader of the opposition, leaders of opposition parties from across the country are coming together. Not for self, not for ambition, but FOR THE INTEREST OF OUR DEAR COUNTRY, to fully back the ADC Coalition.
It is easy to see why this is the most pragmatic, patriotic, and powerful decision of this election cycle.
And to those whispering, "But PO has left" I say, do not be surprised. He will be back. Peter Obi will return to the ADC. Because this movement is bigger than any one person. This is about rescuing Nigeria.
Kudos must go to the leaders of the ADC, PDP, PRP, and APM for choosing statesmanship over ego, for agreeing to sit at the same table once again and talk for Nigeria's future. We are hopeful that the leaders of the NNPP, NDC, and SDP will soon join us too.
Because in the end, our desire is one. Our goal is simple. Our mission is clear:
To send the APC out of Aso Rock and make Nigeria affordable, secure, and prosperous again.
This is the beginning of the end of hunger. This is the beginning of hope. Vote Atiku Abubakar, the people’s president

TINUBU PROTESTED JONATHAN’S FUEL PRICES. FIVE NIGERIANS ARE NOW REPORTEDLY IN CUSTODY OVER “TINUBU MUST GO” T-SHIRTS — ATIKU
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has demanded the immediate release of five Nigerians reportedly arrested in Borno State over T-shirts bearing the words “Tinubu Must Go.” He said that if a political slogan is the reason for their detention, those responsible must explain how wearing a shirt became an offence in a democracy.
In a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Atiku said President Bola Tinubu once stood with Nigerians protesting fuel prices under President Goodluck Jonathan, but now presides over a cost-of-living crisis that has made the same fuel, along with food, transport and electricity, painfully expensive.
“Tinubu opposed Jonathan’s fuel policy in the streets. Nigerians are living with the consequences of Tinubu’s fuel policy in their homes. Parents are cutting meals. Workers can scarcely afford the journey to work. Families are being crushed by bills that rise faster than their income. And when citizens put their anger on a T-shirt, the response is reportedly an arrest. What kind of democracy grants its President the right to protest, then takes that right away from everyone else?” Atiku asked.
“‘Tinubu Must Go’ is a demand for political change. It is not a weapon, a threat or a crime. President Tinubu can disagree with those words. He can campaign against them. He cannot make people disappear into custody for wearing them.”
Atiku called on the authorities to disclose the detainees’ whereabouts, grant them immediate access to their families and lawyers, and release them if the slogan is the basis for their arrest.
“Tinubu was free to tell Jonathan that his policies were hurting Nigerians. Nigerians must be free to tell Tinubu that his policies are hurting them. Release these five citizens now.”

PRESS STATEMENT
2027: Atiku Will Not Be an Absentee President, ADC PCC Assures Nigerians
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has assured Nigerians that its presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, will provide a physically present and responsive presidency when elected sworn into office on May 29, 2027.
The Council said Atiku would not be an “absentee President” who is unavailable when the challenges confronting Nigerians require a presidential attention.
Director of Media and Publicity of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Kola Ologbondiyan, gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja while receiving the leadership of the Atiku Unity Movement (AUM), led by its leader, Hon. Francis Eburuwe.
Ologbondiyan said Atiku had consistently demonstrated an understanding of Nigeria’s economic and social challenges and had proposed policy interventions aimed at addressing them.
He recalled that during the 2023 presidential campaign, Atiku advocated a phased approach to the withdrawal of fuel subsidy, arguing that the process should not impose excessive pressure on Nigerians. Contemporary reports from the 2023 campaign also documented that position.
According to him, the experience of the past three years has reinforced the need for a presidency that is accessible, responsive and capable of taking timely decisions in the national interest.
“The country needs a President who understands the challenges confronting Nigerians and is physically available to respond to the demands of governance.
“Nigeria cannot afford a situation in which there is uncertainty over who is effectively directing the affairs of government at critical moments. The country requires firm and focused leadership,” he said.
Ologbondiyan said Atiku’s commitment to governance would be anchored on confronting the nation’s economic difficulties, improving the welfare of citizens and restoring confidence in public institutions.
He also said the ADC presidential candidate’s recent economic proposals were focused on reducing the burden of rising energy and living costs.
Atiku has publicly proposed a production-based intervention for petroleum products refined in Nigeria, with a fixed spending limit, National Assembly approval and independent audits.
Earlier, the leader of the Atiku Unity Movement (AUM) delegation, Hon. Francis Eburuwe, said the group was fully committed to the Atiku project and determined to mobilise Nigerians around what he described as the need for a change in the country’s political direction.
Eburuwe said the movement would take the message of Atiku’s candidacy to Nigerians across the country, expressing confidence that an Atiku administration would address the challenges facing the nation and improve the welfare of citizens.
He pledged the movement’s support for the ADC presidential campaign and called on its members to remain committed to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
