MORNING OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day: my work, my prayers, my apostolic efforts; my time with family and friends; my hours of relaxation; my difficulties, problems, distress, which I shall try to bear with patience.
Join these, my gifts, to the unique offering which Jesus Christ, Your Son, renews today in the Eucharist.
Grant, I pray, that, renewed by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to you and my neighbours, and help make the world a better place. Amen.
"I'M TIRED OF WAITING FOR A BABY"
A LOVE LETTER FROM A GYNAE DOCTOR TO ALL COUPLES DESIRING A BABY"
READ. SHARE. REPOST
Dear beautiful moms and dad's desiring a child,
After the Lights Go Off: On Waiting, Wanting, and the Quiet Courage of Trying
I will speak as you would, and as I must as a gynaecologist who has stayed behind after the clinic lights go off, and not because of paperwork, but because two people sat across from me holding hands too tightly, and because hope can be fragile when exposed to fluorescent light. I have seen waiting turn loud rooms into quiet ones, and I know that trying to conceive is never only biology, it is grief, and faith, and timing, and endurance, braided together like a stubborn cord.
When I watched the video, Mum Zee, I understood you. I understood the tears that surprised you, and the crying that arrived without warning, not as sorrow but as release... you felt for the lady, because sometimes the body finishes what the heart has been holding for too long. I understood the long wait finally loosening its grip, and I was deeply happy for her, happy in that particular way doctors are happy when science bows slightly to grace, and when patience, after much resistance, finally meets promise.
TO COUPLES:
Nothing prepares you for that moment.
Not the months of negative tests, and not the careful counting of days, and not the silent prayers whispered in bathrooms before dawn, when the world is asleep and hope feels safer in a whisper. Trying to conceive can unmake people. It can make strong women feel suddenly inadequate, and loving men feel helpless in a way no one taught them to name. And slowly, and quietly, it can steal the joy from intimacy.
Sex, which was once laughter, and curiosity, and closeness, begins to feel like work. Like duty. Like a scheduled appointment with hope that must not fail.
And so couples lose themselves, almost politely. They begin to measure their worth in weeks, and cycles, and lines that either appear or refuse to. They smile in public and ache in private. They attend baby showers, and they clap, and they hug, and then they go home to cry. They love each other deeply, and yet they feel alone, and this is perhaps the cruellest part.
If this is you, please hear me.
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
You are not being punished.
Infertility, or delayed fertility is not a moral verdict. It is not a lack of faith, and it is not because you did not pray hard enough, or rest enough, or believe enough. Sometimes, it is simply the long road, the kind of road that teaches you things you never asked to learn.
So, to every couple trying to conceive, I say this softly and firmly:
Be kind to each other.
Remember that you are more than this season, and that your love existed before ovulation charts and will exist after them. Allow joy to sit beside hope, and rest beside effort. Take breaks when you need to, and laugh when you can. Hold hands without an agenda. Seek medical care early, yes, but also seek emotional care. Talk, and cry, and pray, and rest, because endurance without tenderness becomes a burden.
And know this, truly.
Many miracles arrive quietly, after the tears have dried and expectations have softened. Many wombs open after long seasons of silence. Many stories change when you are no longer watching the clock with suspicion.
Mum Zee’s tears are holy tears in happiness for that lady... because she's a mother.
I'm sure this lady in this video will shed tears of joy. They are the kind that water the faith of others, the kind that remind waiting hearts that release is possible.
To everyone still waiting: it may not be long. Your story is still being written, and the author has not stepped away. Your miracle, however it comes, and whenever it comes, has not forgotten your address.
This is for you.
Come back to it on the hard days.
You are seen.
You are loved.
And you are not alone.
WHAT DO YOU USUALLY DO WHEN YOU MISS A DAY OF YOUR NOVENA PRAYER?
Missing a day of our Novena prayer (unintendedly) is one experience that most of us have had. The experience can be demoralizing and often, we do not know what to do in such a situation. Here are a few things you can do when you miss a day of your Novena prayer.
1. Never you abandon the Novena prayer completely. Most often, missing a day of the Novena prayer can be a trick the devil uses to make us spiritually lukewarm. So, not continuing the Novena Prayer because of a missed day is like making the devil a winner.
2. You can skip the day you missed altogether, especially when there are good reasons for missing it. God understands our human limitations.
3. You can say two of the daily prayers on one day to catch up. Your intention and devotion matter most.
4. You can say the prayer of the day you missed on the next available day and just be one day behind everyone else: The sincerity of your heart matters more than perfect timing.
