Detroit judge starts cracking up after a man showed up wearing a sweatshirt that read "Strip Club Veteran."
Judge: "You a strip club veteran?"
Man: "Yeah."
Judge: "I'm sorry... How many tours of duty did you do?"
Man: "Oh, man. About five."
Judge: "Did you get a Purple Heart?"
@BlastingThrough I remember April 25-27, 1980. I was then a seventeen-year-old private in the paratroopers serving with an artillery Bn on RDF1. I remember the ride in the famous blacked-out cattle car to Old Post, the sand table, the mission. We were the cavalry. Today, I said their names. AATW!
Why is the American Flag folded into a triangle?
The triangle represents the tri-cornered hats worn by soldiers of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
The 13 folds traditionally represent the 13 colonies with the blue field of stars on top to represent the night.
@HomeDepot Thanks for Nothing! I’m a disabled veteran who used the Exchange to purchase a washer and dryer set “installed.” The delivery person couldn't remove the connector and left. Now I have to pay twice to get it working! Again, @HomeDepot, thanks for nothing!
Today we remember the 248 Soldiers that were lost in the plane crash in Gander, Newfoundland on December 12, 1985. A ceremony was held at the Gander Memorial Park on Fort Campbell this morning, bringing together the community, Soldiers and families to pay our respects
Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, a @WVNationalGuard military police officer who was fatally wounded in a shooting in Washington, D.C., was laid to rest with full military honors during a ceremony and interment this week. https://t.co/dYKaCN6wOH
While he quietly moves on with devotion to others, please know that Gary Sinise will be handing the keys over tomorrow to a wounded service member for the 100th free home he has been part of building.
Gary deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom. @GarySiniseFound
It's finally here! Today, the Gary Sinise Foundation dedicates our 100th mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home to U.S. Army Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Joe Bowser. This is a huge milestone and we could not have done it without the support of the American people. 🇺🇸
After enlisting in the Army and later rejoining the service following 9/11, Joe was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. One night, a 122mm rocket exploded behind him, critically injuring his leg. Despite 14 surgeries, Joe ultimately chose amputation over a lifetime of pain - a decision that marked the beginning of a new chapter defined by resilience and purpose.
Even after his injury, Joe continued to serve, advising the Secretary of the Army on wounded veteran issues and advocating for his fellow soldiers. His courage, perseverance, and continued service embody the very mission that guides our work.
"The generosity of everybody, the Foundation and the donors, to bless us with all this is just overwhelming. It makes you speechless," said Joe.
Today, we celebrate not only Joe’s new home, but also a milestone: 100 homes built for our nation’s most severely wounded heroes. Welcome home, Joe, and here's to 100 more homes for America's defenders. 💙
A special thank you to the American people and our amazing partners, without whom this would not be possible: @SunbeltRentals, @homedepotfound, and LP Building Solutions.
We also want to thank the following partners for dedicating their time, energy, generosity, and resources to the construction of Joe's home: The Marcus Foundation, Shubert Design Furniture, Owens Corning, Amazon, Huber Engineered Woods, USLBM. SRZ, Nucor, NICE, Duke Cannon Supply Co., Scripps Family Impact Fund, Caminentworks Group, Installed Building Products, Winston & Strain, NSI, NWFA, Providence Builders, BEHR, Brian-NuTone, Builder’s FirstSource, Daltile, Encore Wire, Ferguson, MAPEI, North American Moving Services, Nucor rebar Fabrication, Rheem, and Simple Green.
You know what I dislike about the @USPS at 34655? They never, I mean never, deliver my scheduled packages on Saturday! Even though the package is scheduled for Saturday delivery, I’ll always receive it days late!
During this morning's commencement celebration, Dr. Edward Dadez was named president emeritus and reminded graduates: "Do well, do good, much luck, and success always!" Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
