@igorwojda I don't think there should be any standard for comments, I mean, you can't really unify how people communicate. 😅
But I like this one for commit messages: https://t.co/ASJHtJxogA
@maiatoday's presentation on #KotlinConf was a real hidden gem. I was surprised to hear about Mandelbrot, Lindenmayer, and fractal forests. I'm thrilled to learn about Kotlin notebooks, and I'm looking forward to its future development.
That kind of animation you always wanted to use in your #android app, but more senior developers didn't let you.
@duolingo blink twice if you need help. 😬
@JayShortway@raamcosta I use another trick: in Detekt configuration, all public classes require documentation. In that case, developers realize that maybe it's not needed and classes should be internal. 😅
I can't agree more. The only reason to read this book is to have some structure for technical preparation. As for the rest, honestly, do you want to work for a company that requires all this nonsense?
If there are books that help to „Crack the coding interview“ there‘s something wrong with coding interviews. Candidates that are well prepared to crack the interview are often not the ones that would be the best fit for the role.
@shituserstories@ricknout As a
Mobile app user
I want to
see "bug fixes and performance improvements" in release notes
so that
I get just a little bit surprised when I see that the UI was completely redesigned
@hhariri What's wrong with live talks recording?:) Both sides can benefit from it: you'll do your best for ppl who'd like to watch lives, the rest of the audience will watch it later. Otherwise, I agree all live talks from the recent Kotlin Online were more natural and easier to listen to
@pati_gallardo@hankadusikova@include_cpp Despite the fact I don't feel the necessity for being offended when a man answers my question, I can't deny you've been doing a great job for women in tech, thank you! 👍 Some parts are just superb and can be used by less self-confident or somehow unprotected people in general.
@hankadusikova My experience is exactly the same, but I've made different conclusions. I still don't get it why some women always need to emphasize, that everything happens to them only because they're women. :) Your twitter/c++ community seems to be nice, they don't deserve it. :)
@hankadusikova Actually, it can prove only 2), the rest may be considered as demagogy:
1) There's always such a guy on the Internet.
3) Even if a person knows you must be fluent in the topic, they still can think you'd like to collect explanations.
I also make not understandable for others jokes sometimes, and I learned one useful hack how to offend nobody: use emoji in messages! Unfortunately, without :D people take everything seriously, with emoji in the worst case they'll think you aren't funny.
... I have to learn about their culture, they owe me nothing. When they ask me or share their opinions, mostly they're trying to show participation and be nicer to me. I don't want to blame ppl for being uneducated, it's their choice what to be interested in. Sadly, but true.
Many ppl get a shit about geography, world history, politology. I'm an expat, and I used to be irritated when locals asked me stupid questions or thought they know better about the political situation in my homeland. Then I realized that I came here, so...
Living in Germany and working with folks from the U.S. has given me insight into the nuances between different states/cities/people/cultures within these diverse countries. I learn new things daily. Yet I'm frequently asked if I "miss living in Africa". This annoys me. A thread.
