@RestoringDrknss Cry about it more, NotsoVise @visegrad24
is it energy savings or not? other places should do the same where applicable, where it doesn't compromise safety of others. Businesses shutting off unneeded lights, unused stairways and other places shifting to low power mode...
Hey @SPECNews1CNY!! why do you have drivers oblivious to the pollution of our air, wasting your resources too sitting idling for long periods of time. truck number 218127 (I think) he's sitting here idling for a half hour! why? no use of bucket just sitting in the truck. Ithaca
@niccotaglia@Boenau just have the passenger get video of the reckless driver and report them. we need to have more citizens report these Chads tickets, impound cars and get them off our roadways.
@Boenau also the argument AGAINST so called "breakaway" poles for signs, street lights, traffic lights in areas where they may be people. Protect the people, not the cars!
@GovKathyHochul Shame on Hochul for killing transit projects including disability access, for increasing pollution in NYC, failing to address the problem with too many cars, going backwards on improving public transit efficiency. Resign! @KathyHochul I will never vote for you--until you fix it!
@Boenau All cars should have speed governors. All stores should have bollards in front of the parking/entryway border which will at least slow if not stop most such car crashes.
@trainsbikesbus @Boenau if we had blenders injuring [not killing!] even just a few people per year, the US Gov't would RECALL that blender. We have dangerously designed stroads as well as very dangerous designed cars with poor oversight.
If a driver is relaxed doing 50 in a 30 there's a clear problem.
@philippesibelly @MarkSharon_DP @trainsbikesbus @Boenau it's not adequate, and not frequent. And what should be talked about more, is the poor design of the stroads themselves. When it's [MAXIMUM!] 30 mph but drive feels comfortable driving a 5,000 lb metal bubble at 40 or 50mph, it's clearly not just error, but design. @NYSDOT@USDOT
@MarkSharon_DP @trainsbikesbus @Boenau Bike safety courses should happen, yes, as part of early childhood ed. Kindergarten and up through! Also drivers barely are trained, have a low level of testing then are never tested again-sure person who can barely see or walk, has the reflexes of a frozen rubber ban drive!
@Boenau drivers are "trained". BARELY.
drivers are tested, but the test IS NOT ENOUGH, it should have a street, a busy stroad, & a highway component-all of which could be achieved by using a simulator. We have the tech. this could also be used to RETRAIN people, every couple y after 65.
@GovKathyHochul I will never vote for Gridlock Governor who trashed transit accessibility plans, and decided more wasted time in traffic, more pollution is better than taking action. Oh and New York State taxpayers have a 570 MILLION dollar contract bill to take care of , thanks to @KathyHochul
@calimarquez4014@Boenau ahh, the old "we're not X so we can never hope to make our streets safer, more equitable, reduce pollution." argument. Which is also very wrong. Enjoy this. Same for Amsterdam. Paris. London making improvements...NYC would have made a major step without dimwit @KathyHochul
@Ellectrek@Boenau Also the "losing customers" isn't based on data, it's rectally source statistics-based on the fact troll doesn't want to pay for his car storage but just wants a public supply of "free" convenient parking. Bike ped customers are more loyal than car users.
https://t.co/KDkmMAQX4k
@Ellectrek@Boenau If car storage is so valuable, the price needs to match the demand. industry guru Donald Shoup recommends having a fluctuating price to achieve 85% capacity, thus 15% vacancy, open spaces a couple spots every block. If it's all parked up, the price is too low. Manage pricing!
@calimarquez4014@luton_paul@Boenau "electric cars" are just more cars. it's status quo, which industries/capitalism loves. It was never about solving traffic congestion, i.e. 2many cars. It wasn't about reducing pollution, or making transportation more equitable either. Congestion pricing is the proven solution.
