A render of northeastern Germany, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Happens to be both a nice place to live and to go for vacation!
Done with #rayshader in #rstats@MV_tut_gut#dataviz
I happened to watch Quantum of Solace again the other day and really liked the marble quarries at the beginning. So here's #Carrara and its nearby quarries, with the help of #rayvista#rayshader#rstats. Would be nice to get some Lidar data for this one... 😉#dataviz#JamesBond
Where do the Swiss live? Data from https://t.co/FrNIUGZ00a pulled with the #swissgd package in #rstats and rendered with #rayshader. There are certainly more direct ways to show such data on a map, but they would most likely leave out the fun rayshader part 🙂
I probably could have done that right at the beginning... So Swisstopo's DEM 2m data ends right at the border to Italy, nicely cutting through Matterhorn.
And, of course, the same thing happened in Italy: below is the DEM 2m data from Aosta region's geoportale, cutting through Matterhorn from the south (the data is a few years older though).
