Ultimately, time will tell for the effects of this change, some also claim little will change and some claim this may lead to more extremism. I’m hoping whatever happens, New Jersey continues on its path of reforms that will improve things like voter participation, voter satisfaction, corruption, trust in the government/voting process, competition, polarization and efficiency and effectiveness

After years of pushing for election reform, NJ finally got rid of their party endorsement and incumbent preferential system: the line. Now party endorsements won’t get preferential treatment and will open the NJ politics stage to more fair competition.

I would also like to see some more voting/election reform like STAR or Approval voting systems or more non biased voter guides. NJ has a lot of work to help the people believe in the system again.

TX's rental vacancy rate is ~2x CA/NY's, indicating just how much less supply-constrained the market is

The point still stands. We found ways to fund Alaska’s PFD, social security, stimulus checks and the child tax credit without significant damage to the economy. I agree there will be some inflation because that’s spending. But would it be “huge inflation” regardless of how we fund it? I don’t think so.

@dice_pollito @scottsantens Some spending is worth more than other spending. Alaska has had a UBI of around $1000 a year without “huge inflation”.

Funding a UBI responsibly is absolutely possible.

@WoodbroChilson @Oldglorycries I’m not sure where you live, but where I live and the places around me have a lot of sprawl. I wouldn’t necessarily call that developed.

It’s a short term solution if we do nothing else. But it does push us in the right direction while also lowering the cost of living.
