The concept of “Christian nation” does not require that nations as nations “come to Christ” or are “redeemed” or are immediate objects of the Gospel, just as the concept of “Christian school” doesn’t require these.

The Christian nation only requires that Christian practices are common and a part of its formal characteristics (or a feature of the common good).

This coheres with the idea that the proper object of the gospel is the individual or the elect corporately (if that’s what you prefer).

So if nominal Christianity is the goal, Christianity in name only, this is the way. But you're just going to be 100 years behind England, Scotland, Sweden, Norway, and Germany. All of Europe, essentially.
