Lovely. Syracuse sold an elite basketball program down the river at the altar of football, essentially ruined the Big East by foolishly going to the ACC, and is losing games 70-7. What a disgrace.
What a strange vibe at the track. I’m having trouble putting into words. It’s like oddly subdued.
If the format wasn’t already changing, I’d feel outrage and anger. But it is changing. It just didn’t change soon enough.
I feel bad for Zilisch. But at the same time, I also feel bad for Love. Because the reaction to the format is not fair to him after he had the performance of his life. He shouldn’t have to apologize for it or defend it.
The fact a championship could be accompanied by such a numb feeling is obviously another sign the system needs to change. But again, it already is.
Last night was a crisis averted for NASCAR with Corey Heim winning, particularly the way he did it. People around the garage felt relief today. Tonight, NASCAR’s luck ran out.
Mark it down. November 1st, 2025. The Day They Broke Sports Television.
For years, all these games of "chicken" between content owners and distributors, ended at the 11th hour. Now, it's Saturday in college football season and YouTubeTV - which I and millions of others have "bought into" being the new "bundled streaming fake cable" has dumped ESPN and all their shit.
YTTV is talking about "$20 credits" and nobody gives a shit about that. Give me 8 sports channels (4 network, 4 cable) and I'll take whatever games of importance you have on them.
The false paradise of having so much choice, doesn't mean shit to most of us. I'm not a degenerate who needs to see Delaware vs. Liberty (CBS Sports Network) or New Mexico vs. UNLV (Mountain West Network).
And I can speak for the rest of us: we aren't gonna buy 6 different streaming apps for all the shit we want. Especially not when the price keeps getting jacked up every year.
So good job, everybody. You broke it. Good luck figuring it out. I'll go clean the garage and listen to the radio.
The Eagles are 4-0 with wins against at least three teams that are expected to make the playoffs. That’s hard to do — and they should be commended for it.
But the previous two seasons are why there’s so much fascination with how they’re playing.
2023 showed that you can win games, rationalize everything by pointing to the record, and the problems that were apparent in September haunt you in December and January.
2024 showed that the team you are in September is not the team you are in December and January — that there’s some patience and grace required while a team figures out who it is and how to best play.
It’s the push-pull of covering the team. Which group are they? They’ve earned the benefit of the doubt, but if you lived through 2023, you understand why you can’t just point to the record as a rationalization for every issue.
Thanks to the folks who came to say hello at tweetup. Sorry for the quick conversation with the Ferrucci news going on after his crash. Still great to talk some INDYCAR and NASCAR with the folks here in Toronto.
NEW: Astronomer CEO caught on camera with his HR chief during a Coldplay concert in Boston.
The pair was seen rushing to cover their faces in horror when they realized they were on the big screen.
“Oh what... either they're having an affair or they're very shy,” said Coldplay's Chris Martin.
According to the HR chief’s LinkedIn, she has “trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants.”
The greatest baseball rant of all time - Lee Elia wasn’t arbitrarily ripping fans, he was sticking up for his players.
“Got guys busting their f—— ass and them f—— people boo. And that's the Cubs? My f—— ass." RIP.
