@TheSchoolOfLife This reminds me of Deakin’s line in The History Boys: ‘Literature is for losers’. Linking to the earlier comment on the value of melancholy, I think it’s important there is a space for literature (and ‘losers’) which allows identity with the bits of life we don’t feel fulfilled.
