@hum_drums @hedders4 @ciaranfenton Yes - I've been on similar journey. Private practice > in-house > back to private. Out-house too often there's reluctance/fear to go beyond "this is what law says". In-house too often pressure is from people who'd rather not know what law is, and won't thank you for telling them.

@ciaranfenton's blog is superb analysis of an issue for in-house lawyers that gets nowhere near enough attention, and contributes to corporate governance failures. Disappointed (but not surprised) the Mayson Report appears not to have been more widely read and reported.

It’s a week since The Mayson Report was published.There’s been no outcry re his damning comments in S4.12. Lots of DMs. Society is unaware of the risks & ill-served by the silence. Sooner or later, and as in other spheres, when the truth is out fury will follow. Why not act now?
