Happy to see we're trying to keep as many as we can.
Probably a few surprised to see Reeves has had his #AFCW contract extended for another season.
I think he can still play a role for the team, even if it is off the bench. So important for the development of Kai Jennings, too.
@PloughLaneByNum It will be really interesting to see what happens with the GKs. Bishop made some really good saves at the start of the season. The reaction save from McGoldrick v Barnsley springs to mind. He seemed to lose a lot of confidence after this error v Doncaster. https://t.co/oyVo1khZxg
@PloughLaneByNum Great blog! Agree with everything. This part, in particular.
The Huddersfield game was a throwaway one, but Nkeng & Sasu at wingback still doesn't sit right with me. JJ tried Jennings there in pre-season too!
Having Seddon at LCB v Huddersfield also annoyed me, and didn't work.
Some really enjoyable moments as an @AFCWimbledon fan, this season. ππ
A huge achievement to stay up!
Every one of the 27 #AFCW players that made an appearance in the league, played a role in achieving that.
Looking forward to another season of @SkyBetLeagueOne football. π
FT 0-4. I donβt know any other fanbase around who would back their team for 90+ minutes and give them a lap of honour after a performance like that, but there you go. If youβd offered me 19th in August Iβd have taken it. League One again next season. Thank you and good night.
Celebrated Hackford's goal as much (if not more) than Hippolyte's goal at Wembley. What a relief!
A huge achievement for #AFCW to stay in @SkyBetLeagueOne, with the resources we have.
Everyone else expected us to go down. I'm so happy we've proved them all wrong. πππ₯²
AFC Wimbledon will play League One football again next season πͺ
A late winner from Antwoine Hackford at Wigan means the Wombles are safe β
#AFCW#BBCFootball
Kai Jennings has played 41 mins of League One football, since returning from Sutton.
Away from #AFCW, Kai played over 3,000 minutes (stats missing 3 FAC Qual games)
The only @AFCWimbledon player with more goal contributions than Jennings (14) this season, is Marcus Browne (16).
@9yrspodcast@PloughLaneByNum I see what you both mean, but we need to think beyond just Exeter. Thereβs equally bad teams above us and we need to drag them in with a win.
If we get two draws & no wins, it will be the 3rd longest winless run in AFC Wimbledon history. We need to win a game! Wigan could be it.
Exeterβs late equaliser doesnβt really change much, but this doesβ¦
Only one team that needs the win, next Saturday. A week for #AFCW to prepare for it.
After a magnificent run of results from February under Gary Caldwellβs leadership, our 2026/27 Sky Bet League One status has been confirmed! π
#wafc
@PloughLaneByNum Just need to win a game. As has been the case for months.
Thatβs why Wigan being safe matters more than Exeter getting a late equaliser. I expect Exeter to beat Burton next week, as well.
We need to drag some of the teams above us into the final day madness.
The odds feel stacked against us, but I know #AFCW fans will stick with the team whatever happens.
We're still (somehow) just one great performance from confirming our survival in League One.
If it happens, I really hope one of these two gets the goal to keep us up. ππ
A chance for #AFCW to do the double over a very good team, tomorrow.
But how things have changed since we last met... π
After the 2-1 win at Home Park, Wimbledon had 8 wins from the first 13 league games.
Sitting 4th in the table on 25 points (half the current points total!)
Since that game on 18th October, Argyle have played 30 matches and picked up 50 points. Winning half their games, collecting double the points that #AFCW have.
Wimbledon won only 6 of their next 30 games, conceding more goals than any League One side (joint with Northampton). π¬
Missing our talisman
- Wimbledon won 6 of the 10 League One games that Matty Stevens started.
- Stevens scored in 5 matches, and assisted twice.
- Wimbledon scored two goals in 7 of the 10 matches he played.
Without Stevens, #AFCW have won 2 in 8 games, scoring only 9 goals. π€
That was Stockportβs first away win since 27th January. Their first away clean sheet since 1st January, too.
I assume JJ saw those facts and assumed #AFCW would get a 0-0.
Bauer, heroic tonight, with one working leg. Too many other players letting us down.
Resigned to it now.
