Trump says he "doesn't like" Iran's latest response to peace negotiations. Unfortunately for Pres Trump, it's clear the rest of the world overwhelmingly "doesn't like" his war with Iran 🌎

@ck_theotherone If you want to get a better sense of how they decided on those specific projects there's a pretty good summary at https://t.co/tKNEdY2EUz They actually used these to estimate how states, counties, and cities might receive the $$ in the Infrastructure Expansion Act of 2021
@ck_theotherone The 2015 FAST Act was only $305 billion and funded projects out through FY2020. If you want to know where the money went, I highly recommend https://t.co/twi5KgtNT0 (which can be easily limited to FAST Act projects)

“Public health works best when it helps people find safer ways to get what they need and want,” says epidemiologist Julia Marcus of the importance of promoting harm reduction, rather than harm elimination, during the pandemic (via @TheAtlantic) https://t.co/jA09vY5D9J
"If you're asking me should a lawmaker know whether their resolution [to end the mask mandate] takes $49 million of benefits away from a quarter million Wisconsinites? Yes, they should know that. And if they don't, they shouldn't be in public office."
The $49 million Wisconsin could lose in food benefits is a monthly figure.
That number will change with enrollment levels, but each month Wisconsin residents would lose tens of millions of dollars in benefits if the Assembly carries through w/ its plan. https://t.co/FPwiEbfbGH
New working paper: "Which narrative strategies durably reduce prejudice? Evidence from field and survey experiments supporting the efficacy of perspective-getting" (w/ @dbroockman)

A brief thread...
@CoreywasfromRio While I think whining that some other kid got to do it is a dumb defense, I am much more willing than some to say that anyone committing violence should face significant consequences, regardless of why. And all elected officials should be clear in calling it out.
(somewhat surprisingly) agree w/ the squad this morning: "not necessarily opposed to reforms ... we firmly believe that the national security and surveillance powers of the U.S. Gov are already too broad, undefined, and unaccountable to the people."
I’m leading the call for national security powers to not be expanded in light of the attack on our nation’s Capitol that occurred two weeks ago, as such measures often lead to the erosion of Americans’ civil liberties.
@CoreywasfromRio Had someone shown an intent for violence when taking the building during the Act 10 protests, I'd fully support prosecution for insurrection or similar crimes. Having been in it, I can tell you organizers had little tolerance for incendiary rhetoric or attempted violence
@CoreywasfromRio I think it's important to clarify the point on intent. It's pretty clear that not everyone involved, but some people involved, intended to take hostages and possibly execute elected officials in an attempt to block the legitimate function of government. That's insurrection.
Man @politico has had some wickedly bad takes recently. I think it's OK to let the press have a little joy and admiration for the new President on inauguration day, especially when the last one was egging on his supporters who were literally threatening to kill them.
SCOOP: Biden will seek a five-year extension with Russia on New START, a critical nuclear arms treaty that expires in 15 days. Biden is also preparing to impose costs on Russia pending an intel community assessment of recent Russian actions 1/ https://t.co/oJBAGW9hcS
@JohnCornyn I don't know about everybody else🤷♂️ but I'm pretty OK about setting a long-term standing precedent that any President that commits an impeachable offense (especially inciting insurrection) should be prosecuted, even if it happens to come to light after you leave
@philipaklein I'm sorry, I think you mean Biden fixes the norm-smashing Trump committed when he installed an anti-union lawyer at the NLRB in an attempt to dismantle it (& fires the guy who was instrumental in breaking the PATCO strike under Reagan) https://t.co/0xyAQzLG2L
