Ben Schingen (6-foot-5, Duluth East) has been terrific for Playmakers Premier North. The forward has done a good job of rebounding on both ends.
He also just drained a three and finished a layup.

This devastating and empathetic piece tracks with what I've heard and seen all semester. The kids with externalizing behaviors are often punished and the kids who are internalizing go unnoticed. https://t.co/nE5VVO36h0
Teaching content is a PEACE TIME activity. If your classroom is in chaos, stop teaching content and regroup with your students; your learning community. #teachertwitter#teacher#edutwitter
Schools provide many services. One that is commonly overshadowed is how well they help students resolve conflicts in healthy ways. There is a lot of unresolved conflict in the halls this fall. #edutwitter
Teachers and parents: stop telling your children that this new way of life is temporary. Would you invest in something temporary? Does something temporary cause you to engage? #BackToSchool#distancelearning#edchat
Let this be a time for a proper educational revolution. I’m not talking about how we are using more technology in the classroom. I’m talking about undoing empirical systems in education that do harm. Our eyes are wide open. Dream big educators...
@L_Liu_Laoshi@cultofpedagogy I would call it a gathering of ideas, more than a discussion(banter). Responding looks more like supplementing the ideas offered in a post with sources/media that challenge the classmate OR invite them to dig deeper/widen lenses. Later, they quote one another in their papers.
@cultofpedagogy Asynch discussion allows more processing time. Everyone gets a chance to articulate their thoughts and offer their best selves. I’m willing to forfeit “banter” for quality.
@cultofpedagogy My INTROVERTS have contributed so much to the learning for all of my students. I realized that my F2F discussions used to include me and 8 extroverts- leaving 20+ student voices unheard. Going forward, my discussions will be asynchronous and online. ALL voices/minds heard.
If learners are not given opportunities to innovate, create, and think critically, they are enduring the dreadful model of COMPLIANCE-BASED Learning. Believe in students and give them a chance to show what they can do. #education
Schools in 2020 are operating in BETA. BETA is basically a test environment for innovation that lacks the research to drive it. Much like most tech innovations in BETA, our new normal in education will include much of what we learn this year.
@cultofpedagogy I love the notion of master teachers needing to have a certain level of subversiveness about them, in order to meet the unique needs of their students. Thank you! It is both affirming and centering to hear this from you.
