💃Streets across NSW will come alive with the new Vibrant Streets funding package!
Supporting communities to reinvigorate the streets converting them into a space for community events, outdoor dining experiences and so much more... 🎶
@DeclanClausen@jen_marchant I’d totally forgotten about when we saw this. I’d like to think the subsequent “Australian dinosaur tree” conversation wowed all our classmates. Or at least caused them to later pause and check out this rather fascinating specimen! 😂
@cbbmuse As someone who - (1) is really missing travelling; and (2) just bought a bike for Covid and is kinda addicted to cycling now - this really is manna from heaven! Watching right now!
@BarryJohnMcGra1@9NewsSyd@LauraTunstall9 Obviously they need to make sure the design works properly but, as a new cyclist, this pop-up occurring near my home has encouraged me to get my own bike and start cycling regularly. Something to be said for that?
@KaiserinMad@9NewsSyd@Vargnaar I regularly use this cycleway. I used to avoid cycling into the city because it felt pretty risky with all the traffic rushing past (especially on the uphill bits where I’m pretty slow!). This route feels a lot safer for cycling now.
@fictillius Short of rebuilding the bridges ($$$) OR not having upstairs seating, I’m not sure what alternative solution was open to TfNSW for vessel design? Personally I’m looking forward to being able to ascend for some rooftop exhilaration once east of Camilla!
@CityAklccrg Britomart’s continued transformation over the last 15 years is one of the things that makes me proudest of, and most excited for, Auckland. From dodgy bus layover and creepy carpark to....
@JohnSurico Awesome work. And inspiring to those of us MSUD-folk still trying to crunch out our own MSc dissertations! Can’t wait to read your findings and analysis!
@spacesAKL@GraemeGun Yes, isn’t there normally a tactile sensor for those with limited vision too? Even if no button? The upper “arrow” section of the iconic PB/5... https://t.co/e0TqgO5but
@GreaterAKL ps. Long time listener, first time caller. Love your work - amazing level of analysis and thinking. Don’t always agree but always interesting and though-provoking. Every city needs a “Greater Auckland”!
@GreaterAKL Doubt Brisbane Metro or Amiens Métropole would agree they are gimmicks? If can improve PT perception and increase capacity might be good solution in some circumstances? Will always depend on the particular use-case / corridor needs - no single mode is going to be a silver bullet!
@GreaterAKL @SaturniusMons Shifting to a tram-style bus in Malmö boosted patronage by c40%. Decent uptick in PT with the Belfast Glider too apparently. Don’t be too quick to discount the benefits of a more attractive zero-emissions rapid bus fleet. Buses are our friend, particularly in lower density areas
@HMCOxford@blackwelloxford And the most beautiful baking smells in the morning if one is lodging in the attic “Harry Potter room” (small but perfectly formed) above. Many happy Oxford memories!
@Oxford_Urban@OxfordUrbanists @OxfordConted Another great #sudox student contribution to the Magazine.
