@constatively @AustinHaynes3 This brings to mind the issue of accommondation online. Chunking can be used an accommodation for Ss with learning disabilities so that the look of the assignment is reduced, making the learning experience less overwhelming. How do we provide accommodations online? #LTEC6010
@constatively I would include it to set parameters for the study and limit the number of types of media incorporated into the learning experience. #LTEC6010
@FranTechTeacher@constatively I think it's the non-linear nature of the discussion on Twitter that is overwhelming. I'm used to chronological order and some sort of pattern!
@constatively Well, we are always looking at student engagement. How much time is a student actively engaging with the content? Online, we might look at how often a student loses interest in a lecture and navigates to another website or visits other sections of the course #LTEC6010
@constatively It depends on how proficient the student is at communicating. For young ss, technology gets in the way. An oral response vs. a typed response given via a tech tool in the primary grades is like night and day. Ss tend to tell elaborate stories when responding orally. #LTEC6010
@constatively Based on my own experience, online learning is not the same as face-to-face learning. Though it might be difficult to measure the difference in the amount of learning that takes place in each setting, we could study student perceptions of learning in each setting. #LTEC6010
@constatively Technology can positively influence learning when students are able to use tech tools to gain a better understanding of the content. Another positive is when tech enables students to create meaningful connections to others and to their passions. #LTEC6010
@constatively For primary students, technology can negatively influence learning when the tools used in the classroom are developmentally inappropriate for them. #LTEC6010
