🔵🟡Do útoku prichádza „🇺🇸 americký Slovák“
S radosťou chceme našim fanúšikom oznámiť príchod novej posily do ofenzívy!
Novým prírastkom v rodine 🐯 rysov sa stáva Boris Skalos.
Ide o 23-ročného Američana so slovenskými koreňmi. Posledné tri ročníky odohral v kvalitnej NCAA.
KIDS: Imagine if you took just 15 minutes of your screen time in a day and shot pucks instead. 15 minutes.
That’s about 100 shots.
If you did that for a month, you will have shot 3,000 pucks.
From taking just 15 minutes out of your couple hours of screen time per day.
On hockey and age-based admission:
I had this in the newsletter a few weeks ago. More than 80% of college hockey freshmen last year were junior age-outs (20+ years old).
409 out of 509 players.
@philgpbp We were very saddened by the end of CBS News Radio after being an affiliate for decades. We'll miss the quality of the newscasts and features and the people we've gotten to know.
Barring a miracle, the Mercyhurst men's hockey program essentially started and ended with Rick Gotkin. His tenure at Mercyhurst began in 1988 shortly after the school began…

That's a good analysis, Mike. But I'm guessing the unknown part is how players will fare on their new teams, even with strength of schedule and the other elements figured in, if I understand correctly. And how they are used. Will they now be on a top line or power play?
One example: RIT is getting back a player who scored 27 pts in 21 games for the Tigers in 24-25 but 4 pts in 22 games last season on his now former team. More than SOS explains that. I would expect closer to that 1.29 ppg number this season.
Similarly, players who leave a top-tier program who were little used are likely to show more upside on a team that plays them, perhaps showing numbers more like their level at juniors.
Fascinating stuff to think about. Maybe pencil that in for a post-season comparison of CHN's CHIP or other metrics between this past season and next season for players who transferred. Games played/which line/power play all would be interesting.
It’s been a few weeks, but we wanted to comment on the disgusting decision to try and shut down Mercyhurst’s Men’s Hockey program.
We didn’t pull any punches on this week’s Friday Faceoff episode.
Michigan D Matthew Mania is headed to RIT via the transfer portal
LA Kings picked him in fifth round in 2023
Good get for coach Matt Thomas and the Tigers

@TorinSmith15@DU_Hockey I figured out what happened. I didn't go past what the NCAA record book lists on page 2 and it hadn't been updated for Yaniv Perets. Later in the record book it's correct.
Per NCAA source, @DU_Hockey Hicks officially holds the single-season save percentage record at .957, breaking Howard's 2004 record (.956).
His GAA came in at 1.1965 according to NCAA, so third-best behind Howard and Quinnipiac's Yaniv Perets (1.1732).
