@DreamLeaf5 That shit drove me crazy as a little kid. I must've dragged my parents to at least 20 different donut shops in a doomed quest to find those donuts. I wanted to try them so bad.
@spqr_sulla They reconcile this apparent contradiction by claiming that women were treated essentially as property prior to women's lib, so the misogyny of men had no impact on whether or not they were partnered.
@jhonpl55@tern_inca@MinModulation@Heroine__P_ Anyway, I've been enjoying this discussion and I don't wanna come off like I'm arguing just to be a dickhead so I'll lay off for a bit lol
@jhonpl55@tern_inca@MinModulation@Heroine__P_ And yes I agree that men should be more concerned with hygiene and grooming and such, though I don't believe "taking care of your appearance" = "feminine".
@jhonpl55@tern_inca@MinModulation@Heroine__P_ Found a neat study, will have to read more to be sure, but it seems that women tend to prefer masculine men more when societal conditions are more favorable. Perhaps the trend of women going for feminine men is reflective of the poor state of things.
@tern_inca@jhonpl55@MinModulation@Heroine__P_ Yeah that's the part that's tripping me up lol almost all the women I've met in my life were very much into masculine men, both in appearance and demeanor. They tend to react with disgust if a man acts even the slightest bit feminine.
@jhonpl55@tern_inca@MinModulation@Heroine__P_ Wait, but why though? I'm too male-brained to just understand that off the jump lol why perceive him differently? Do you mean to say that women prefer men to not be masculine but want monsters to be hyper-masculine?
