David North, a major contributor to the design of such significant GM designs as the 1966 Toronado & Buick Reatta, passed away on January 2. Sharing experiences with him in the design studio & at Indianapolis Motor Speedway were invaluable - I can’t thank him enough. May he RIP.
Yesterday at @WynnLasVegas, they surprised me with the reveal of the restored Aerotech! These cars today are privately owned by Matt Katz, and I have been working closely with him on the restoration of this car I designed in the 1980s, but had no idea that the cars were complete!
This year’s Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol was one of the most incredible automotive experiences I’ve ever had. Dedicated to Hypercars and Supercars, the event also had a few vintage supercars sprinkled in - and many were very special one-offs.
Yesterday, I had the honor of having Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital and creator of @granturismo, take me on a tour of their very private and very extensive Gran Turismo labs in Tokyo. All I can say is that the facility is AMAZING!
Really enjoyed working with the @RobbReport editorial team on this feature! A special thank you to @RobbReportViju for bringing it all together.

Congratulations to Michael Simcoe on his incredible career, and to Bryan Nesbitt on the exceptional honor of being appointed the eighth person to lead the organization. His career has been rich with great experiences that more than prepare him to lead GM Design into the future.
My world tour of 2024 Concours events was competed with a grand event at the @WynnLasVegas. This event is only three years old, but has a very rich and diverse number of classic cars as well as the very latest hypercars. I loved it!
Last weekend, I presented Jim Hall, legendary race car driver and creator of the all-mighty Chaparral race cars, with the 2024 Edward T. Welburn Automotive Designer Award during ceremonies held at LeMay – America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington.
Congratulations, Jim!
A week ago, I was at Chaparral Cars in Midland, Texas to celebrate the introduction of Jim Hall’s fabulous book, “TEXAS LEGEND: Jim Hall and His Chaparrals”. It was a great weekend, and even Jonnie Rutherford stopped by!
When I think of the month of May, I think of the Kentucky Derby, Indy 500 and the GP of Monaco. But this year was quite different - I judged classic cars at the Lugano Concours in Switzerland, Ville d’Else at Lake Como in Italy, and the Greenwich Concours in Greenwich, CT.
The winner of the Car Design Review 10 Lifetime Achievement Award has been announced.
A huge congratulations to Ed Welburn.

When it comes to the art of the automobile, he's known as the man who brought beauty back to the brands of @GM. Ed Welburn rose through the ranks to become GM's first head of global design and the highest-ranking African American in the automotive industry. @CBSMMiller has more.
Enthusiasts are concerned that young people are not interested in cars, let alone classic cars & concours events. Thankfully, I am seeing a shift, including at this past weekend’s @DetroitConcours. The vibe was fresh and energetic, and I salute @Hagerty for being bold innovators!
@itstonybennett was a man of grace, elegance and incredible passion. His gift to the world of music, art and giving will be with us forever.
Thank you, Tony.
